Learning self-regulation techniques allow us to shift our physiology into a more coherent state. The increased physiological efficiency and alignment of the mental and emotional systems accumulate resilience (energy) across all four energetic domains. Having a high level of resilience is important not only for bouncing back from challenging situations, but also for preventing unnecessary stress reactions (frustration, impatience, anxiety), which often lead to further energy and time waste and deplete our physical and psychological resources.
When you come to my office for Biofeedback, we will first talk about your goals. These could be related, for example, to be more focused or relaxed. With your consent, I will then place a sensor clip on your earlobe to capture your pulse. Then, I will connect this sensor to something for you to do on the computer. It will be something that you can see, and maybe also hear, to practice that state of mind that you want. The goal is for you to be able to to envision and practice in my office (e.g., focus in class/work). We will always discuss your progress. I will always leave you with a few tasks to do between sessions. Most people see me for about 2-3 months. Below are related photos for your familiarity with the process.
We will do the same thing when you are on the road. The difference will be that you will either have a similar sensor on your earlobe or watch. Otherwise, you will just use your hands to capture your reactivity (e.g., breathing).
